Re: A hosting proposal
Sparks, Raptoer or anyone else, do you have any generally accepted wisdom, personal experience or any neat benchmarks on how much the virtualization layer and other cloud stuff affects these kinds of workloads, compared to running the same stuff natively? This is well out of my area of expertise so ...

Re: A hosting proposal
Just a quick reply, not in the role of a host, but as someone who's fairly familiar with Arma servers, our server setup, and what demands our playercount imposes. I'm also not touching on the budget concern except by noting that getting the money together has never been an issue during the history o...

Re: Advanced Flight Model: Thoughts and experiences?
Don't feel bad about not being able to hover. With a more realistic flight model stable hover is (in my experience) actually a lot harder than basic flight, takeoffs and landings.

Re: What now?
The server is down because V+ is over. The server instance ran on the same dedicated hardware as our other services, so it's not a financial issue. The server can be started back up if there's enough interest in ad-hoc play despite lack of sessions. Currently there's no-one on the hosts team who is ...

Re: A3 gear, weights, capacities spreadsheet
Spreadsheet updated for 1.24. No change report this time I'm afraid, as I didn't have a dump for 1.22.

Re: Folk ARPS patches!
I haven't had time to sew the patches on yet, but here's a carefully prepared simulation of the end result. The test run badge is going on the Polish breadbag that serves as my current man-purse: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85130/safe/fa/badge.jpg And the new patch will end up on the Austria...

Re: DLC, expansions and free stuff, oh my!
Can someone give a rough description of how the Take On Helicopters flight model differs from the Arma 3 one? The TOH flight model is a simulation of helicopter flight (via a 3rd party library called RotorLib, if someone wants to look that up). Your control inputs translate to modifying the propert...
