Re: ArmA 3's backstory - Geopolitics, Ho!

I think most of that seems very plausible, a secular Iran is something that could easily happen IRL, judging from the way the Iranians I know talk about home. China-Iran alliance also possible, especially if Iran becomes secular, and selling oil to China has been a way to avoid some of the impact o...

ArmA 3's backstory - Geopolitics, Ho!

Stemming from some discussion in the Folk ARPS Skype channel, I started writing an essay about how the modern world might end up in the state of ArmA 3, especially regarding the formation and rise of CSAT. There's some cool geopolitics that could very well lead to CSAT in a plausible manner. First o...

Re: Mission ideas?

Currently both our available missions and session composition are heavily weighted towards Cooperative missions. There is nothing inherently wrong in this, as it is generally less stressful than Adversarials despite greater complexity. I, nonetheless, would advocate for you (and other burgeoning mis...

Re: [Sun] 30 Aug 2015 (Special Forces)

A full night of medic'ing and back-seat roles for me as I paid attention to making the trains run on time. Without further ado: Castle Crashers Deployed as Bravo Medic A fairly disorienting mission - NATO silenced weapon dudes swarmed over the ridgelines, firing line after firing line appearing as w...

Re: fa3_c60_quds_radio_hour

Good point about the transports, darkChozo. Maybe make the QRF a bit more active? I don't know what exactly they were doing, but on the ground it felt like they shot down the helis and then went on a coffee break. If they patrolled around or deployed infantry to fight then maybe our retreat would've...

Re: fa3_c60_quds_radio_hour

Got it in one, Kefirz ! :jihad: The most important question I'd like feedback on for this mission is one of length. It seemed that this mission lasted a while, and while I like the domino sequence, I wonder if I shouldn't cut out either the electrical substation attack or the outpost clearing in the...

Re: fa3_c60_quds_radio_hour

Thank you for the kind compliment, Sparks - I loved putting this mission together, and I will freely admit to stealing one particular element from the mission idea you bounced off of me before (having a dedicated FAC, of which I am growing to be very much a fan). The rest of it was in development fo...

[Sun] 30 Aug 2015 (Special Forces)

Missions: Castle Crashers Quds Radio Hour Appropriation, Part 2 Overrun Afterparty: Glub Glub Glub Blug Blug Blug 43 plausibly deniable comrades snapped silencers to their guns and went off to prove that Special Forces has quotation marks around it in Folk ARPS! A swarm of NATO derps washed ashore ...

Re: fa3_a80_lands_end

This mission has only been played during FAXORBAT-4B testing, where it existed in a bit of a different form - CSAT vs. NATO in a race to control the lighthouse. This mission has been redesigned to be CSAT attackers vs. FIA defenders, on the same terrain. Part of that re-design is spinning the world ...

fa3_a80_lands_end

CSAT attacks a FIA-controlled peninsula at night - attachments recommended - no NVGs, but lots of flares and a lighthouse.
