[Sun] 07 Jun 2015 (Will it float?)

Post by audiox »

Tonight a peak of 28 Comrades came along for our funtimes.

Tonight we played :
  • Appropriation Part 2
  • Hold The Line
  • Intel Raid 0 (It Was All A Dream Edition)
  • Intel Raid 0
  • Fuel Charges
After-party :
  • Shipping Problems
  • Ghost Hawk Down
  • Tank U Agios

Please leave feedback to the mission makers in the mission making feedback threads.

As always, comments are most welcome below. Also, if you have a nice story be sure to tell it. Videos are always much appreciated, and will be appropriated by our propaganda departement if you tell us about them.

If you think commanding seems like fun, yet hesitate because you worry that you won't come up with a reasonable plan on such short notice, then check out our leadership programme.

If you want to test out a new updater/launcher for all your mod needs look no further than our Comrade head's marvellous new contraption.

Did you notice that some vehicles/players had way cool FA Tractors on them tonight? That's because of the power of our squad tags. Get yours whilst stocks last.

FAXORBAT-4B Feedback

As last Sunday, today was one more step towards accelerating our path towards a glorious socialist agrarian utopia. Should you wish to help the Party along the way (and you do wish that, do you not, comrade?) add your experiences to the collective knowledge base:

Based on a very short CO's standpoint, the new orbat makes squads a bit easier to manage. What I did notice what there were two automatic riflemen in our sections, which I consider a bit too much :p . May I suggest replacing one of the automatic riflemen with a "marksman" slot, a soldier who is equipped with a standard-calibre rifle, a 2x scope and a bipod?

Appropriation, Pt. II
Deployed as FIA A1 Section Leader
A1 took up position covering the Western Approach. A2 had high ground between the Eastern and Central Approaches, and if A2 spotted anyone in the center, we'd shift onto our adjacent ridge and infiltrate down into their midst via the dense forests.

And then A2 was overrun in the first minute of contact. They all died, presumably due to a 16-man assault on a 7-man position. The only word we received in A1 was "Contact!" and then a cavalcade of gunfire and no comms beyond that. This is why contact reports are so damn vital. Still, it wasn't too hard to deduce that A2, cut off and alone on their church-topped hillock, were defeated in detail with A1 powerless to help, ensconced as we were 500-meters away with a ridge and two forests in the way. I didn't doubt that AAF hadn't paid much of an iron price for that land, so I didn't think A1 could engage them and beat them in a straight firefight.

Instead, I left Blue Team's Grenadier and AR on the high ground as a sacrificial distraction force Base of Fire, and myself and A1's three riflemen ducked down into the valleys below, and the rest is glorious history:

More to the point... The two ARs traded inconclusive fire with one another, but Blue Team was able to keep the enemy's attention long enough for Red to circle around and take them from behind.

Hold The Line
Deployed as Alpha Squad Leader
There are too many damned vehicles in this mission for a force without MAT. A1 section was cut up behind the rocks because the vehicles and their stabilized machine-guns murdered anyone who peeked out. A2 section was caught out on the open hillside traveling towards their objective by those same vehicles. Our Base Of Fire was set up behind a bunch of rocks on the near slope of a hill with no good infil and exfil route. Four of us survived that Base Of Fire position.

We then took part in the eight-man assault on the town, where I was shot by a hideously occupied church as my FPS took an absolute shit.

Intel Raid 0
Deployed as Alpha Squad Leader
"We can't hear you because of the boats!"
"We can't hear you because of the boats!"
"We can't--"
TRACERS
Initializing Spectator Script...

Intel Raid 0, Take 2
Deployed as Alpha Squad Leader
"We still can't hear you because of the boats!"
"We made it to shore!"
"We've spotted a Strider!"
TRACERS
Initializing Spectator Script...

Again, stabilized CROWS .50 cal machine-gun with NV and Thermals vs. inflatable rubber zodiac boats. The power jump between infantry weapons and the weakest armed vehicle for every faction except FIA is utterly ridiculous sometimes.

This is why we don't engage choppers :jihad:

Comrades, if you plan on bringing down an enemy chopper, please be considerate and make sure its on fire as it falls. Thank you in advance.

Sorry. I guess all I can say is that it didn't happen that way in my head when I hit it with an RPG.
There are only three things I hate in this world: Ranting, Lists, and Irony.
