Tonight a peak 26 of us showed up to have a good evening of much shooteyness.

Tonight we played : After-party :
Please leave feedback to the mission makers in the mission making feedback threads.

As always, comments are most welcome below. Also, if you have a nice story be sure to tell it. Videos are always much appreciated, and will be appropriated by our propaganda departement if you tell us about them.

If you think commanding seems like fun, yet hesitate because you worry that you won't come up with a reasonable plan on such short notice, then check out our leadership programme.

If you want to test out an updater/launcher for all your mod needs look no further than our Comrade head's marvellous contraption.

Did you notice that some vehicles/players had way cool FA Tractors on them tonight? That's because of the power of our squad tags. Get yours whilst stocks last.

Thanks for suffering though my incompetency for another session, folks! Not that much badassery happened from my point of view since I spent almost all my time leading this session, but I must say the last mission (short straw) made me actually feel half-competent. I can't take much credit, and I believe charlie encountered far less trouble than juliet, but I think we only lost mabbot over that extremely long hour. It almost felt halfway professional.

I might post a video of me autorifleing the shit out of Hillside View. (Three kills is a lot for me, okay?!) I got some nice shots of running around in the fog, laying down fire in the valleys, and the extraction taru careening backwards off into the altian morning. Also, that technical/third camp alpha encountered at the end of the mission was brutal. We were all up, and then suddenly we had no more squad.

One other thing that affected my video quality negatively this time was the unusually large amount of desync I was getting... maybe it was just my head but I think it was worse this time around. Will post a video if I make one (maybe just a montage?)

Peace.

Edit: There you go, folks!

IIRC, C1 was two strong before "success" screen showed up. Or at least on the way to the hilltop I found few bodies, and there were only three of you when I finally got there.

Also...has anyone else noticed that we tend to perform better on Tuesdays than on Sundays?

Big thanks to all of Juliet squad for patching me up the 5? times I went down in short straw.
I swear the AI could pick me out of the group from miles away, probably looking to avenge their vehicular friends.

It was an interesting night.

Fuel Charges
Got shot while trying to revive Zitron. AttackFor doesn't have the best approach I suppose, and our Fire Team got cut down by whoever was in those buildings. on the left of the road.

Armor Graveyard
Volunteered by the Party as Bravo 1 FTL, with Bodge, Arthur, Babu Baruti and Rurfan.

All was going well, we were positioned on a hill and engaging contacts across the valley while Alpha was down below. I ended up not hearing Ralian (BSL) properly, he had asked for the fire team to be split such that some people get left on the hill with him while some others go escort the tank crew to the their big metal gun. I was too distracted by enemy units and didn't register the "split up" part, so I just took everyone.

Anyway, after that court-martial-warranting moment, we continued along the road in front of the tank, till we reached a spot overlooking the CSAT FOB. We caught the attention of an armed Strider, and I ordered everyone to withdraw from the edge of the road...only to receive a .50 cal in the face, jump to limbo and found that only Bodge survived the encounter.

Hillside View
Bravo 1 FTL, with Bodge, Zitron, blip2, Tigershark and...and...I don't remember, another old-timer iirc. Soon joined by Eqbot.

As always, leading such an experienced Fire Team is difficult for me. I remain a tad disoriented at best, and the section of the map we were going through had little cover and lots of medium range and occasionally close contacts. And I mean, come on, it's Hillside View.

Red Team had a slight tendency to run of on its own and get carried away with engaging contacts, so at one point I had to be like "GET OFF THE RIDGE, PULL BACK DOWN THE VALLEY SOUTH EAST AND GET TO BSL". I wasn't really shouting though, don't worry.

All said and done I think we only lost Zitron and blip2, and Peasant (BSL now effectively CO) called for extract, so we survived. We didn't destroy any caches but I suppose we kept a few dozen people off of Alpha.

(I'm still confused about what happened to blip2 - I got a confirmation that he was KIA, how did we leave him behind? And how was he typing on global chat?)

Short Straw
Juliet Vehicle Driver

 I had even managed to bail out! But yeah, really would have loved to see the mission to the end, it's so relaxing driving (till you know, you're trying to dodge PCMLs).

Madrak's a really good vehicle commander too (unlike me - super disoriented), and Major Effort was enjoying cannon time. :v:
