A variable 17 comrades fought valiantly on the hills of Livonia, the coast of Tanoa, and across the dry plains of Altis.

We started with a conventional attack on a NATO held village. We managed to knock out two of their entrenched HMGs with only a handful of casualties, but once we got to the center of town we were exactly where NATO wanted us. Another platoon of NATO infantry closed in around us, and despite our UAV's accurate reporting we were quickly overwhelmed and overrun. Our brave UAV operator made a last ditch effort to get to any survivors in the town, but was blocked and gunned down by NATO counter-attackers.

Next on our evening, we returned to a highway on Altis which was soaked in our blood a week prior. This time around, with the help of some mortars and sharpshooting AT infantry, we took out the first of two checkpoints with ease. As we traversed the three kilometers to our next objective, however, we ran into an enemy patrol which wiped out half of our infantry and took out the valuable mortar team. With only a small portion of our original force remaining, we made a desperate assault on the second enemy checkpoint. We blasted two enemy vehicles, but were out of AT for the next two enemy vehicles. For some time we were at the mercy of a Hunter GMG dousing us with grenade after grenade, until eventually we managed to get enough of our own grenades onto its turret disable it.

Third for the evening we did some cool-guy air assaults into Syndikat compounds. The first compound was smooth until our leader took a bullet just before calling in the extract. We lost another guy in the confusion as the newly promoted leader got their bearings and got the birds on the ground. Safely airborne again, we made another landing at the next Syndikat position. An LZ that seemed clear from above but was actually covered by an HMG. From there it was an uphill assault, and one fireteam got pinned down by the HMG. The other fireteam made it up the hill, had a chance to flank and kill the HMG, but lost it's leader as well. Picking up broken and confused remnants of two fireteams, the third commander of the mission managed to take the last two caches and get a handful of survivors out to see another day.

Finally, we ended the evening with a relaxing stroll through the woods. We should have checked that it was hunting season. Worse, we should have known it was hunting season for the most dangerous game of all....
